Crack Filling and Sealcoating
Crack filling is the placement of asphalt emulsion into cracks to reduce water infiltration and reinforce the adjacent pavement. The use of crack fill can increase the longevity of the asphalt surface once cracks appear. The material used for crack filling is a thick tar-like substance that is liquid enough to fill the voids in the asphalt. Crack filling is applied via a handheld hose attached to a trailer where the crack fill is heated to be applied in some stream. The tar/crack fill that is applied will be dusted with a granular material (Black Beauty) to ensure pedestrians or tires do not stick to the material when it is heated from the sun on hot days.
Crack Filling prevents moisture penetration from rain, snow, and ice which deteriorates and erodes the base of your parking lot.
Why Crack Fill?
- Prevents cracking and more expensive pavement repairs
- Protects your property and increase its value
Sealcoating is a latex-based cold tar pitch emulsion fortified with a latex rubber additive and sand. It protects your parking lot from environmental deterioration as well as petrochemicals from leaking vehicles, resistance to water seepage, oxidation from the sun, and other damaging elements.
- Prolong the life of your Parking Lot
- Save you overall maintenance costs
- Enhance the appearance of your property
